What are the steps to becoming a Certified Scholastic Coach?
STEP 1: Prerequisites for Certification
16 years of age or older.
Have an understanding of the rules that govern the sport of cheerleading in Alberta, basic skill knowledge competency, skill progressions, and the ability to provide sound judgement when instructing.
Registration as a Coach-in-Training (CIT) member with the ACA and Cheer Canada.
STEP 2: ACA Scholastic Cheer Coach Course
Register for the course ($102.00).
Complete the online Rules and Regulations Exam covering Canadian Scholastic ICU Rules and Regulations and Cheer Canada Score Sheets.
Participate in 7 hours of virtual class time (e.g. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm) covering the ACA’s Scholastic Cheer Coach Manual.
Complete the Practical Skills Assessment with an ACA Instructor.
STEP 3: Visit the ACA’s website
Confirm that you have completed all additional requirements and courses.
